In one movement. With a preface and critical comments in Russian and English. This is Schnittke's arrangement of his own Sonata No. 2 for violin and piano. The arrangement was made in 1987 at the request of Gidon Kremer, and it was premiered that year. This edition is primarily based on a manuscript prepared by Schnittke's copyist, Yevgeny Shchekoldkin.
