With a foreword in German and English. Eybler composed this work in 1794, on a libretto by an unidentified author. The work is scored for SATB soloists and chorus, with an orchestra of winds, brass, timpani, and strings. The oratorio tells the story of the birth of Christ. The music was not published by Eybler's lifetime. This edition is based on the manuscript score, held in the Austrian National Library in Vienna.
