This work is the first movement from Starry Night, a three-movement work for solo clarinet. With program and biographical notes. Composed for and dedicated to Virginia Costa Figueiredo. Premiered in February 2013. This work was inspired by a Gerard Manley Hopkins poem of the same name, printed as text before the score. The music is repertoire for the semi-final round of the International Clarinet Association 2025 Young Artist Competition.
