Four early pieces for three sopranos by Rota: I. La non vuol esser più mia -- II. Al suo dolce guardare -- III. Misero cor! -- IV. Benedetto sie 'I giorno. With a preface in Italian, English, German, and French. Rota composed these pieces while studying at the Curtis Institute, and they were premiered there in 1932. The canons set texts by Angelo Poliziano, Matteo Maria Boiardo, and Gabriello Chiabrera. Duration ca. 4 minutes.
