Commissioned by the Library of Congress in honor of Elizabeth Sprague Coolidge on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Library's concert series. Premiered by Roberto Diaz and the Curtis Chamber Orchestra in Washington, DC, March 2015. Higdon composed this work for Diaz to perform on the Library of Congress's Tuscan-Medici viola.
