Composed in 1988-89 and revised in1990, on commission from percussionist William Trigg, who premiered it with David Runnion, cello, at Symphony Space in New York City. In four movements, each driven by a particular idea : Obsession -- Of Songs Unsung -- Night Whispers -- Not-so-Steady.
