Cavalli composed this opera in 1653, on a libretto dating from 1642. It was intended for the Venice theater, but was never performed there. It premiered in Milan in 1654. The music survives as an autograph score, and a calligraphic copy. The autograph is the main source for this edition. Reduced prices available to series subscribers.
