With an introductory article in Russian and English. This political lampoon was begun in 1932 on a libretto by A. Tolstoy and A. Starchakov. It is unclear why plans for this opera were ultimately halted. This is the first edition of the surviving materials, and it is based on the composer's manuscripts. The singing texts appear in Russian and in transliteration.
