With program and performance notes. This work was composed in 2006 on a libretto by Jean-Claude Carriere. Commissioned by De Nederlandse Opera and Holland Festival, Amsterdam, Grand Theatre de la Ville de Luxembourg, and IRCAM Paris. Premiered in April 2007. The opera concerns Wagner's interest in Buddhism at the time of his death. Duration ca. 100 minutes.
