Sinclair edited this edition with William Brooks, Kenneth Singleton and Wayne Shirley. Ives began work on this remarkable opus between 1910 and 1916. A partial premiere took place in 1927, but a complete performance did not occur until 1965. This edition includes a general preface, prefaces to each of the four movements, a program note from the 1927 performance, Ives's conductor's note for the second movement, and critical notes. The CD-ROM contains manuscript facsimiles, pages from the critical edition, and color-coded quotation analysis.
