Eight dances for piano duet. With a preface in German, English and French. Critical notes in German and English. Dvorak composed these pieces in 1886 as a condition of receiving a large honorarium from his publisher, Simrock, for his 7th Symphony. Dvorak was uneasy about producing a second set of Slavonic Dances after his Op. 46 pieces, not wanting to repeat himself.
