A piano quintet in four movements. With a preface by Michael Staudinger in German and English. Walter founded the Vereinigung schaffender Tonkünstler in 1904 with Alexander Zemlinksy and Arnold Schoenberg. This work was premiered in 1905, on the second chamber music concert given by this society. This first edition is based on the fair copy of the manuscript.
