Maddalena Lombardini Sirmen began her violin studies at the Ospedale di San Lazaro e dei Mendicanti in Venice; later studied there with Giuseppe Tartini who in 1760 wrote her a letter explaining his theories on violin playing. This arrangement is of the first of six violin concerti she wrote.
