In two movements without pause. With a program note. Commissioned by the Orchestra of St. Luke’s in New York for their 2007 Second Helpings series, Notable Women Festival, curated by Joan Tower. A lyrical, intimate dialogue between two equals that unfolds in variations, leading to a passage in which the two instruments fuse into a single “meta-cello.” Duration ca. 9 minutes.
