La Squelette, l’Avare, la Vanité et le Turc (les cloches sonnent encore) = the skeleton, the miser, vanity and the Turc -- IV. L’ermite errant = the wandering hermit -- V. Une sonnerie des cloches (et les coqs chantent) = A ring of the bells (and the cockerels crow). This work was originally conceived for a 15-note diatonic music box. It can be performed on piano, celesta, or toy piano. If a toy piano is used, it is preferred that the instrument is lightly amplified with reverb. Duration ca. 15 minutes.
