With program and biographical notes. Commissioned by Ryan Townsend Strand for the Letters to Jackie project. Premiered by Ryan Townsend Strand (tenor) and Karina Kontorovitch (piano) in Chicago, November 2023. Text by then 14-year-old Diane Tyler, taken from a letter written to Jacqueline Kenndy following her husband’s assassination. The letter included the poem Lament by Edna St. Vincent Millay, which is also sung. Duration ca. 4 minutes.
