Strive : For Percussion Ensemble (1941).

In one movement. Beyer composed this work for John Cage. The music was premiered by the Southern Illinois University Carbondale Percussion Group in April 2011. This edition, based on the original manuscript, was prepared by Ron Coulter. Eight percussionists perform on 15 instruments, including triangle, metal bowls, dragon's mouths, toms, cymbal, anvil, gong, drums, timpani, and lion's roar. Duration ca. 5 minutes.
