The manuscript to this oboe concerto was presented in 1869 to the Librarian at the Music School of the San Pietro a Majella monastery (Naples), Francesco Florimo. The present edition is the first publication of the original score; the only other prior ed., Ricordi 1961, was a freely revised version.
