A vocal work in two parts. With a preface, introduction and critical commentary in Italian and English. Instrumentation list. Cast of characters. The genesis of this allegorical work is unknown, although it was inspired by events surrounding the French Jansenist Jean de Tourreil at the end of the 17th century. This edition is based on the autograph manuscript, which is the only surviving source of the music. Piano reduction by Antonio Frigé.
