The beginning of an ambitious project: the first edition of the complete Salisbury liturgy and its plainchant for over four hundred years. Salisbury liturgy and chant (the so-called ‘Use of Sarum’) were widely used in southern England in the later Middle Ages. Antico plans to publish first the material for the Mass, and then the material for the Office. This first volume includes the liturgical items and instructions for the Common and Ordinary of Mass. The original rubrics are translated into English and glossed where appropriate, and the plainchant is presented in the classic square notation.
