Ludus Minor : Cello und Klarinette (1944) - First Edition.

Hindemith wrote this "small version" of his Ludus Tonalis (1942) for piano in February 1944. The present work has the same form and order of tonal centres as the earlier work: three fugues and two interludes. The composer wrote these pieces for performance at home with his wife (who played the cello).
