In three movements. With a preface. Towards the end of his life, Debussy turned to the idea of composing a set of six sonatas for various combinations of instruments. He never was able to compose the fourth sonata, which he intended for this unusual instrumentation. The present work creates such a sonata out of material from various late works of Debussy.
