Rossini began this work in 1832, composing six numbers, while a fellow composer, Giuseppe Tadolini, wrote four other numbers. Rossini revised the work in 1842, replacing Tadolini's movements with his own. This reprint edition includes a new introduction by Ilaria Narici.
