The overture to this popular opera, Love in the Workplace, like many other opera overtures by Gassmann, enjoyed a life of its own as a concert symphony. It was offered in the Breitkopf Catalogue in 1772 and also in the Goettweig & Quartbuch catalogues. The opera received its Viennese premiere in April 1767.
